Augusta High School has been a second home to me for the past four years. Like any home, there are many things I love about my school, but there are also many things that I wish I could change. My favorite part about AHS was the science department, and all of the different classes offered in that wing of the school. I also really liked how my school personable all of the teachers were; living in a small town, it is normal to see teachers outside of the school, and I felt like that helped build a strong relationship. On the downside, the administration at the school is lacking. Many students would agree that our Principal and Vice-Principal don't care for the students as much as they care about their paycheck. In fact, it is common to hear of a student receiving detention for something completely out of his/her control (ex., missing school for a funeral). Another major dislike I have with AHS is how the teachers noticeably form cliques -- these teachers should lead by example instead.

Teachers were very resourceful and truly care about their students. Classmates were friendly compared to the big city school I was attending. Safety was great, no fights like my last school. Sports are a HUGE thing here which was very fun!
I'd like to see more student involvement and/or events. I say this because the surrounding schools have all these events and things the students do to be involved. Andover, for example, has Trojan Days. Also, I wish seniors were able to paint parking spots, one because it'd be a great fundraiser for the school plus you could get the art department in on it too.
