My daughter attended Athens City Schools and received a quality education that not only prepared her well for college, but she used her dual enrollment classes to gain a whole year of college credit. Great teachers and staff! We really appreciated the family atmosphere of the entire system!
Review Athens City Schools
Since the day I started at Athens City School I have really enjoyed it. The teachers and staff care about their students. They teach at a pace where everyone can understand. They are always available for extra help either before or after class. Having laptops provided to the students does help a lot. They have all kinds of programs to help students prepare for college. A variety of sports and clubs everyone can get involved with. Many kinds of resources are provided for students such as computer labs. The library is filled with books that have information on every subject. The school system is very involved in the community. The parents are very involved with the school. I like that in the case of an emergency there is an officer on campus. The lunch is not the best but they do offer options.
I thought that Athens high school could efficiently suit students for college. The success rate and average test scores are very high. The only problem is that many bullying incidents have happen there, such as stabbings and gun threats. Saying all of that, you do have teachers who truly care about the students.
