I loved my high school and being involved in everything over the years! I was involved in 3 sports, 3 clubs, was the treasurer for one of the clubs, was on prom/winterball committee, and did volunteer work in the big buddy/little buddy program. I always had the help I needed from my teachers and counselors as well. The graduating class is always pretty big and I had several friends throughout the years.
My school has very helpful and kind teachers which love what they do. Athens offers AP and honors courses which has helped me tremendously in order to grow as a student.I have made many connections throughout the school, and all of the teachers always push us to be the absolute best that we can be. There is some diversity throughout the school but Athens offers many clubs and activity’s and is an overall very safe and good school district to attend.
Athens provides wonderful opportunities for their students. Big feeling of pride for all involved. The school had a focus on athletics and while some did benefit from that, most felt forgotten (I think that is changing though). Be weary about the school board and admin as they have been known to do unfavorable things (fire good people) to save their own pride.
