The education is very good, but the staff are not the best fit at times. While yes, there are some amazing teachers such as Ms. Egan, there are some questionable ones too. I personally feel the staffing of the school could definitely use some improvement, as teachers are just as important to learning as the curriculum itself is.
Other than that, there are some concerning incidents that I have personally saw occur. For example, there is definitely discrimination from the officers that patrol the school. There was one incident in particular which rubbed me the wrong way, where an officer had followed a girl of color and scolded her for being outside the lunch room, completely ignoring the white girl sitting on the stairwell next to him, and then escorting the girl of color to the lunch room despite the white girl breaking the same rule. I have seen acts such as these happen, and they are very concerning.

Totally prepared me for each day, year and in advance for the next school - especially for college. I would highly recommend Ashland!
I enjoyed Ashland Public schools very much, however there is not a lot of diversity at the school. I feel as if Ashland schools do a great job in educating and preparing students. One thing that I would change about Ashland high school is the amount of attention the student body receives. In other words, I feel that the student body is not heard as much as they should be and should ultimately have more input on ideas and events that happen in the school.
