An amazing school system, one of the best ones in the state. Every teacher is there because they want to help student grow and learn. You will not find a better school system, with better teacher, or with better grades.
The schools are overall pretty good. Most teachers and faculty are nice and do care. Some people would like to say other wise, but I feel that they just got unlucky with their teachers or they are just not cooperative and understanding of the teachers. Other than the staff of the schools, the activities and classes are pretty good as well. I have not finished a class feeling like I have not learned anything important over the year. Also, the clubs are and sports are very well ran by people who care about them.
The Ascension Parish Public School district is devoted to providing the best education for its students. Students have access to great technology and resources. Faculty works around the clock to ensure that students are provided with everything that they need to succeed in school right now and in the future. The Ascension Parish School District also provides classes that allow students to get a head start on college and develop real life skills.
I loved everything about our school. I've been going to Ascension Parish Public schools since kindergarten all the way up to my senior year . Unlike most public schools our high schools give there students free tutoring for students who are having trouble in Math or English classes. All the teachers and staff makes sure that the students are on task and do everything in there power to help you pass. Even in middle school, They give you an option to go in during recess so that the teachers could sit down with me and help better explain the work to me. Not only are the schools great with helping students succeed but they also want to let the students have fun. For example, while being in a pandemic it was hard for the students to interact with one another but the principals still found a way to do a graduation and a homecoming so that the students would be able to enjoy there school years. Overall it has been a great experience.
This school board has created a very good setting for teens with little to no cliques. Great teachers and staff
At Ascension Parish Public Schools, I rather appreciate the well rounded academic scores and the teachers that are hired to make learning easier and more efficient. However, while the academics, test scores, and STEM programs are proven to be advanced, the diversity at the Public Schools needs to expand and become more accepted. Students are constantly being hassled/bullied for their sexuality, race, preference of gender, etc.
Focused more on athletics rather than more than adequate teachers. School lunch is disgusting. Good community, nice competition. You can see that change is trying to be made however, more times than not, the changes are not well suited for the children in the district.
I liked how everyone was friendly with each other. One thing I would change is the layout of the school
I moved from East Baton Rouge school system to Ascension parish becasue they seemed alot better. Believe me they're flaws but it's nothing compared to E.B.R. schools.
The teacher's are amazing. They actually care about their students achieving their dreams. It's nice to have a teacher on your side through the tough years of high school.
The Ascension Parish School System is very academically advanced and the teachers are wonderful. I would like to see more music and arts programs, and the food is mediocre at best. There is also an Early College Options program, where students go to River Parish Community College and graduate high school with an associate's degree in Humanities.
Ascension Parish Schools prepare the students with several different programs such as the Early Program. This program gives students a step ahead when they graduate earning both a high school diploma and an associates degree.
They are very involved in the students learning, very involved in everyday life of a student, and always want the best for each individual student. They provide safety in each primary, middle, elementary, and high school.
All in All my high school experience was one of the best! It was very fun to around a school with so much school spirit and how everyone would be involve with the school! The school board is very excellent in how the schools are being run by. It was the best 4 years of my life and I wouldn't change a thing!
The school is decent. I feel like we should be able to have a little more fun so we could be more engaged! We should have more clubs , prep ralleys and other things that keeps us going !
My experience with Ascension Parish schools has been excellent. The teachers and staff are all caring and considerate. All my academic needs have been met and teachers here go above and beyond. On my campus I have always felt safe.
All of my teachers are amazing, they help me in any way possible to prepare me for college. After the flood in 2016, our school board did an extraordinary job working to get all of their students to get back to learning during a time of crisis. We have the some of the best athletic programs in the state. I was even accepted into an after school computer coding class that is provided by our school board.
