Rating 4 out of 5 7 reviews
There are many positive aspects of Arkport Central School. It is a small school and the teachers know you by name. If you needed extra help, the teachers were available. Being from a rural area, it is also a safe place to go to school. Athletics were strong. There weren't a lot of college prep classes offered, and I did not have the opportunity for ACT or SAT prep classes. Even as a senior, we were not given computers to use for classes. There were no computer programming classes. We did not have a lot of opportunities to learn about careers that were out of the ordinary. There also is not a lot of diversity at Arkport. If you wanted enrichment, like musicals or dance or theater, one had to seek it outside of school as the school did not provide these opportunities.
Arkport is a very small, rural community that has limited opportunities due to poverty in the area and a small number of students and teachers.
I like my school because it is a very close community in a very safe, welcoming, and inviting town filled with great people.
