I think our school has a lot of potential. We have a lot of good opportunities to prepare students to be successful in college or life. Here they offer advanced placement classes. Most of the advanced classes don’t feel advanced, there is room for improvement. They help students get involved. But they don’t help students figure out how to apply for scholarships. We need more involved counselors.
As an alum, I enjoyed this school district. Although I faced some trials, after further reflection, the atmosphere created by the administration, faculty, and staff was to see students succeed. One thing I would change about the district is the size of the "pool" for hiring when looking to replace a teacher or administrator who has left.
Arkadelphia Schools are great. They hire great teachers that poor into you all throughout your K-12 experience. When I got to college however, I was surprised by the difference in mine and students from other parts of Arkansas' education. Going to college, I felt very ill prepared compared to a majority of other students.
