Appoquinimink School District Reviews
Review Appoquinimink School District
As a senior of Middletown High School, I'd have to say my overall experience was great! When I transfered here my Sophomore year, I was welcomed by many wonderful staff members and students. I found my belonging in the extracurricular activities offered here including MHS Theatre, MHS Choir, Puppet Club, and Gay/ Straight Alliance (GSA). As far as academics, we have new classes available that would help any student in the "real world" such as Financial Algebra Advancement. Also, we have such AMAZING football games and an outstanding football team. The games are fun to attend and the atmosphere is exciting and upbeat due to the MHS Marching Band! Overall, the Appoquinimink School District has much to offer students and always finding each student a sense of belonging in their schools.
I am currently a senior at Appoquinimink High School, which is apart of the Appoquinimink School District. I also attended Alfred G. Waters for middle school and Olive B. Loss for elementary school. Through all my years within the Appoquinimink School District I have had an overall good experience. I feel like the academics are on a high standard which helps prepare students for college material. I also feel as if there are various activities to choose from, so there is something for everyone. The teachers at Appoquinimink are great overall, only a few seem to do more showing a PowerPoint rather then actually teaching. I also believe this school district needs to help seniors out in the college process and slowly intertwine them into what college would be like with skills such as time management. Overall I have enjoyed my years through the district all the schools are nice and provide excellent education.
The school overall is not bad, however it is not very good either. Corruption in the higher positions cloud judgements within the school which overall effects student experiences. Certain items that were purchased for large quantities of money are not being in use and are being stored behind doors, never to be used. There are iPads, however no one is allowed to use them. Also, the sports departments spend more time on Football than other sports which creates tensions. Certain teachers here have no talent in teaching and are only there to collect their paycheck.
