COVID-19 Update for Prospective Students and Families:

In the fall, we will offer five full days of in-school learning and are exploring the option of a virtual academy for those families who may prefer distance learning at this time. Our School and District continue to follow guidance from the CDC, State of Delaware and Department of Public Health in order to maintain a safe, healthy environment.

At Appoquinimink, students, parents and staff share a common vision about high achievement, a fact that’s helped our students earn one of the best academic records in the state.

Since 2000, ASD has opened 14 new schools and completed additions at 8 other buildings, ensuring that our facilities are among the best in the tri-state area.

ASD is a 1:1 technology district and Delaware’s only public school system to offer 6 different languages, college credit and a Seal of Multiliteracy.

Globally-focused initiatives include: cultural exchanges, world affairs programs, service learning & entrepreneurial activities, as well as college-connected Career & Technical Education pathways.

We offer a small town atmosphere with easy access to employers and cultural attractions. Residents are 1-hour from the beach and minutes from nationally-recognized universities.

Chinese/Spanish Language Immersion Experience

Appoquinimink offers an exciting opportunity to engage in learning in a non-traditional way by immersing your child in English and a second language from KG-12. Students in the program become fluent in both languages and demonstrate above-average performance in their academic classes. Families must apply during the kindergarten registration process.
