Ansonia School District Reviews
Ansonia High is becoming a much better school than it once was. In fact, it's a much nicer environment than the other schools that I've been to. Teachers actually care a lot about their students, and my teachers have always been incredibly helpful and competent. If you take advantage of AP, ECE, HCC, and Honors courses you'll really prepare yourself for college. We have a lot of different clubs to join and of course, sports! Students are mostly nice and welcoming, but just like every school, there are a few troublemakers you want to steer clear of. This school is really what you make of it.
Ansonia High School has been a very good experience. The staff is great and works close to make sure the students achieve there best. The High School has a new principal this year leading the school to run smoothly as he works with the rest of the administration. There is many teachers that allow close student connections to make the students comfortable and not alone when needing help or advice.
I like that there isn’t much bullying there and that teachers care a lot about each student they have. I can definitely say that if you take AP classes you will be prepared for college and be forced to strive for your goals.I would like to see not as strict dress code so we can be slightly unique and express ourselves. I feel that the administration as far as principle treats the students like we are in middle school and doesn’t give the students a chance to be young adults. Somethings with all the rules and strictness it feels like prison but there are many fun times like all the clubs that are provided and ran by students. It gives you a sense of belonging and helps create friends. The sports from soccer to cheerleading and football are all exciting and provide you with a lot of school spirit. It’s fun to be able to cheer for our teams during prep ralleys and hear that we had won. Overall it is an average school but has its up sides.
