The school environment makes a concerted effort to provide learning environments that are safe for students, adapt to their requirements, and create genuine metrics for evaluating student learning. My school uses every investment, accessory, and gift to help students develop. Compared to schools with poorer performance, they have greater opportunities. Every student at my school receives support in achieving a similar objective, which is their post-high school plans. They provide opportunities for kids to do other things than college, and they are great for college preparedness for students.
Overall I am forever thankful that I am an alum of Ankeny High school. The school has brought so many wonderful memories, as well as helped me grow into the person I have become today. The friendships and relationships I have made over the past few years are ones I will never forget. Even though school in itself took a turn through COVID19, the teachers, staff, and students, made it as seamless as possible. The teachers and staff were beyond supportive as they helped me through some of the darkest moments of life, as well as supported me through my positive moments. I could not have imagined graduating from another school system. The education has better prepared me for my future plans of college and becoming a child psychologist.
Ankeny Community School District is a rather nice district with plenty of administrative staff and the kindest teachers. They provide resources and as much assistance as needed, yet their curriculum is boring and they do not offer many opportunities for advanced students. There are no ways to work ahead, take an expedited class, or skip boring units.
