It's overall a great district with many opportunities and inter-district events! I really like being a part of AUHSD. However, I do wish at some times for smoother and more convenient direct communication with the district, especially concerning important changes or ideas shared by many people in my school. Otherwise, I have had a pleasant experience with the Anaheim Union High School District so far! Please note that my opinions are heavily influenced by my experience at my own school, and not entirely regarding the school district, as a whole.
Anaheim Union High School district has fostered a sense of community and belonging for many of its students. Being as diverse as it is, helps people feel comfortable as well as helps them get to know people with different cultures, experiences as well as beliefs. Something that strengthens this community. This school district has done a very good job of providing ALL its students with necessary resources to succeed! I for example have had the honor to join exclusive programs like the Earl Woods Scholar program through informational meetings that the district holds. The district has helped students of different socioeconomic classes succeed despite their circumstances, and I’m living proof of that. One of the many things that so commendable is the districts devotion for giving students career exploration options and insight into the work field through the AIME internship program. The only thing I would change is having more funding for the VAPA programs!
As an upcoming sophomore, Loara HS (The high school I attended) was a great experience for me because I got to meet so many joyful friends and most importantly teachers that gave me useful advice to become the person I want to be. Furthermore, chatting with teachers that I can have in common with!
