I have attended AISD affiliated schools my entire K-12 education. The teachers are beyond the best I could ever hope for. Their academic programs, especially the MAP program and variety of AP classes offered made me feel prepared for college-course work. In addition, the athletic programs were amazing; great coaches and overall an amazing environment for any budding sports player. The school culture made you feel proud to be a Marlin, Longhorn, Maverick, etc. Fights when they occurred, would be stopped immediately by nearby teachers and times by students, themselves. I have made lots of memories from AISD schools that I would never give up.

Being an involved student in the district and attending both Manvel High School and the newly-built, Shadow Creek High School, that are under Alvin ISD, I liked the staff especially. From my sole experience, every teacher that I met during my school years held myself and others accountable for our actions. My AP teachers and coaches pushed me to better myself academically and athletically. The students' school spirit wasn't as alive as I'd hoped it to be but I still enjoyed it. Having friends from the theatre department at SCHS, I found out that their booster club was very advanced and makes things happen. I love the parent involvement that can be observed from the athletic booster club as well. Additionally, I believe this district has some of the best coaches.
The school district is growing at a fast pace this has been a challenge for administration. I feel some of the teachers in the AP classes lack the knowledge to teach the course, they make sn effort for most part but it is frustrating for a student like myself thst thrives on learning. I believe the older campuses are in need of some attention but this is part of the growing pains. The district needs to aggressively review the food and make swift changes in the choices being offord.
