I've attended Alvin Independent School District since second grade when I moved in to Alvin, Texas. I love our district and our rules because it provides a save environment for all their students. Recently a new policy was adopted in all of district and it was our No headphones/Airpods policy. We adopted this new policy for the reason that last year there was a drill at Alvin High School and a student stay inside because of his inability to hear the fire alarm due to him having his headphones on. Since this incident, our district decided to embrace a new rule to keep all of its students safe . Now in every drill all the student successfully exit the building safely.
I have been enrolled in the Alvin Independent School District for Elementary School, Junior High School, and I am currently attending one of the four high schools. The high schools in the Alvin Independent School District (Alvin ISD) provide lots of resources to ensure students succeed. The high schools in Alvin ISD have a lot of resources that can help any student reach the goals they want to accomplish. To help get you started on your career path, Alvin ISD has a great College and Career Academy that high school students may attend. The school provides courses in many different academic interests, and by the time a student finishes the courses they will be able to get a job when they graduate. The different schools also provide lots of different extracurricular activities to participate in including sports, clubs, and student organizations. Alvin ISD is also very involved in every student's wellbeing and wants to ensure that every student is on the path to success.
My first two years at this school went pretty well i won’t lie. I had a ton of friends and had fun majority of the time. Once quarantine hit school became an entirely different experience for me. Not only did I lose several friends, but I just felt so detached from my school as well. I had trouble with my classes and I found the school not comforting in the slightest. There was one teacher there that I knew i could trust with everything and I think she is the only person who kept me sane in that place. I do not entirely blame the staff because we do have quite a large student body so it would be impossible to keep up with everyone, but I personally do not have any attachment to the school.
