I loved being a student at Altus because everyone is very encouraging. The educators and the administration really care about the success of every student.
The faculty and staff were very welcoming and helpful during the enrollment process. Being online was great! We could not believe the number of academic and extracurricular options for our kids. The school loves AAFB.
The schools are themselves are okay. They are old and dusty and a little dirty. However, I have met some amazing teachers here and am so happy I ever got to meet them. Some of the teachers are just those kind of people you need in life to keep you pushing on. The teachers will encourage you to never give up on your dreams and try the best you can to make high school a memorable and fun experience.
We have great teachers and staff. We have recently updated most of the campus. There are a few areas that still need updates like the cafeteria. Our town has great spirit and support of our schools. We also have a local college where students can take concurrent classes to help start their college career.
I came to Altus my sophomore year from a 1A in Texas, it was a big jump to Altus being a 5A. But the transition was so smooth you would think I went there all my life, the atmosphere at Altus High is one unlike any other. Thankful to be part of the Bulldog alumni!
What I liked about Altus Public schools is that there was always someone around you could talk to and everyone was so friendly.
What I liked about Altus Public Schools was the use of technology to further increase education. What I think that should be changed is to increase the number of AP classes.
