Overall, Almont's teachers are mainly outstanding. The classes are on the smaller side and they are passionate about the subjects they teach. It has some of the best test scores for schools in the Lapeer County area, and students are allowed to join multiple extra-curricular activities and clubs, as opposed to other schools that limit students to one or two. The atmosphere at the school is mostly friendly aside from some students and administration members. Football is favored over other sports there, and the track is unfit to practice on. Recently the theater and music programs have been losing some students and aren't always given the same treatment as other clubs and sports by the administration and students. They have been making great strides in their STEM subjects recently, and installed new alarms on the doors for safety. Not anything too fancy, but Almont is a good choice for the area it’s in.
I love how close-knit the Almont community truly is. I felt that throughout all my years there, I had the support of parents, teachers, and peers. I was involved in extracurricular activities, like soccer and National Honor Society. It was a loving, supportive place that I will always call home.
Almont Community Schools shapes me into who I am today. Despite the mediocre drug problems associated with the school, it is by far one of the best small town community schools you could go to. The teachers treat you with as much respect as you give them and give you a personalized education based on how well you understand the curriculum. If it wasn’t for Almont Community Schools I wouldn’t be as strong and independent as I am now. Almont Schools is where I would recommend anybody that wants to learn and still have a fun time, while making new friends. Almont Community Schools doesn’t care what ethnicity you are, or what gender you are or like. In conclusion, Almont Community Schools is the school for anyone and everyone.
