Aliquippa School District Reviews
I've spent my sophomore, junior, and senior years at Aliquippa Jr/Sr High School. It has been an interesting few years, to say the least. The behavior of the students is.....unique. The interactions between students and teachers is very different than I've seen in any other school. To be a teacher in Aliquippa, you have to be a certain type of special. Not everyone can handle teaching here. The administration, though, could be better. A lot of the rules and regulations put in place at the school are really pointless for a few different reasons. They either don't work, the students don't care enough to abide by them, or they're aimed at problems that are minor while there are so many bigger things that should be prioritized.
I would like to see all students be encourage to participate in all sports not just an emphasis on football. I would like to see bullying in this district taken more seriously. All students should have access to a safe haven at school when feeling threatened, and not be told, "you don't have a hall pass , go back to class". Lesson homework ,and put the emphasis on the child, getting it, in class. A lot of parents can no longer help with homework. Let's not push these kids through to get rid of them. Alot of really smart kids have this happen ad well.
I graduated from Aliquippa. Being from the town already I knew a lot of the staff and students, for being such a small community it isn't horrible. A lot of the bad rep that Aliquippa has isn't as bad as people may think. It's no better than any other school in Beaver County, there may be less money in the Aliquippa School Districts budget unlike Central Valley or Blackhawk but it's still a pretty good school. It has it's problems but so does every school.
