There are a lot of exceptional teachers who try their best even though administration sometimes holds them hostage with ridiculous policies. They seem to think that sports are extremely important to the detriment of classes that are actually held during the school day (arts & music) and will allow athletes to get away with causing trouble but make examples of the "nerds" for any little perception of an infraction. The administration doesn't do enough to make alternative students feel safe, or welcome and allow bullying of them continue. The resources for students with IEPs is lacking, a lot of times it is a fight to get them to listen to concerns. It's a typical small town school.
I love going to Alexander Central School District because the school and its community of people are so friendly. It is a small but mighty school where everyone knows everyone in the area, making it a well connected environment where I personally enjoy learning at. I feel safe and supported at Alexander School through my activities, sports, and my academic education.
Alexander is a nice small community. It is nice to know everyone and be friends and close to everyone in your grade. It would be nice for the school to be more involved with attending ALL sporting events and being more involved with celebrations during hard times. Overall my experience at Alexander Central School has been pretty good!
