Alamogordo high school is very welcoming place, as far as students and faculty . The high school is not too achedemically challenging, which is very hard to allow some students to engage in studies. The school’s faculty doesn’t always see eye to eye with students or accommodate them to their needs. Sometimes students aren’t looked at or talked to as adults or responsible people, but as children, this makes it hard to respect some of the systems and rules of the school.

Going to school at Alamogordo schools, especially the high school was a pretty good experience. At the high school we really didn't have a crazy amount of kids, so I really liked being able to make those one on one relationships with the teachers. The teachers at the high school were always pretty great--there were some that were not so great but the ones that were good were really good. I would like to see the organization at the school change, and the bad teachers let go. I think the school would do great with more structure.
Alamogordo Schools leave a lot to be desired. They are low on the academic profile in the state, and the state is one of the lowest in the nation. Communicating with anyone is like pulling teeth and getting any help for your child is near impossible. Once they took the kids on a field trip and neglected to tell any parents that they were running late on their return (by hours). Kids missed the buses home and parents were waiting at the school for their children while the staff left to go home. There is only one or two teachers that I have had a decent encounter with, but they are few and far between.
