Agua Fria is an overall amazing school. Teachers who put 100% effort in not only making sure each student understand the concept, but also become really engaged in every student and their personal lives. Our school provides safety, an amazing education and everyday is full of fun! Coming to school is something we all look forward to !
Being part of the Agua Fria Union High School District has been a great experience the last few years of high school. There are lots of fun things to do and attend to make the best out of the 4 year experience, however, I am friends with students who attend different schools in the district who all have different things to say. Some enjoy their schools while some dislike their teachers or feel like the staff does not care for them. Despite these flaws, this district produces very intelligent young pupils and many of us have become successful throughout the years.
The more involved and the longer you’re there, the more problems start to surface. The security is super strict with one rule but lax with another one; security is just messy. I’m in the marching band, and the program is great but what I don’t like is how the rest of the school treats band kids. The problem does not lay within the students, band kids mingle nicely, what the problem is is within security and admin. They’re constantly trying and looking for a way for band kids to get into trouble. It’s a hassle and ruins the experience for us. Another problem is funding for marching band. It took the school 14 years to give the marching band new uniforms. That’s disappointing. Granted those are cheaper, it just sucks to see other bands who are incredibly funded have amazing shows because of the props and what not. The district is alright, it’s very communal and that’s pretty nice.
