Instead of advocating for our students that want to come to school for in person learning during the times of COVID, SHS administration has taken the most stringent interpretation of state health guidelines to make it impossible to do so.  They are NOT acting like leaders in learning like they claim to be. Students are struggling with e-learning & feel like their academics are suffering while their voices are going unheard.   We pay the highest taxes in IL with almost 70% going towards the school districts serving Lincolnshire, SHS has over 1,000,000 square feet of space, and pay our teachers generously.  How teachers and administration can't come up with a plan that can be implemented to accommodate the students that need in person learning is beyond comprehension.  In addition, our teachers our ranked #4 in the nation - instead of being part of the problem they should instead be part of the solution!

Stevenson High School is an amazing school, it prepares every student for their future and allows them to have plenty of choices from sports to clubs to classes. This school always shows spirit and brings the student body together at football games, dances, and fun activities during or after school. Stevensons size prepares it's students for college and it's even bigger than many colleges!
My high school has a rigorous curriculum and great AP classes. However, it is extremely competitive. It has great opportunities for involvement in clubs and volunteering. The culture at school is very diverse and gives an opportunity to mingle with varied ethnicity. It also provides students with great academic support at the learning centers. The teachers give a specific time when they are available for help.
However, the school has a large population of students, and hence it is really easy to get lost in the large crowd , unless you are motivated. It is very difficult to make into certain sports due to competitiveness. Counselors are very supportive and easy to approach regarding guidance and future plans. The school has done a good job in the COVID 19 era with detailed plans for safety.

Overall the school is very good. The child will do great if they are motivated and have disciplined and realized their path early on.
