I attended Abilene ISD schools K-12 and I would never have chosen to go anywhere else! The school district is very diverse, meaning I got to become friends with all different kinds of people, and I feel like that has helped me become a very well rounded person. I am in college now, and the academic rigor through AP classes in Abilene ISD has prepared me extremely well. I was also involved in many of the fine arts programs in high school, and they are top notch! I think I have truly made lifelong friends from attending these schools. Send your kids to Abilene ISD!

I transferred from private school and was anxious. Abilene ISD allowed me so many advantages I would have not otherwise had. Thanks to the medical High School and their partnership with the local hospitals, I am now an EKG tech, a licensed phlebotomist, a Certified Nursing Assistant, and a Certified Medical Assistant...all before college. Many of my peers who could not go to college now have a much brighter future in job choices. I am more than ready for college to prepare for medical school. I will be forever grateful to the staff and educators at Abilene Independent School District.
There has been a few questionable scandals within the AISD but a change in leadership has resolved these issues. The educational experiences received as well as the fine arts programs through this school district are second to none. The programs the schools offer are amazing however the district is not without its faults. The cafeteria food is quite terrible, there are questionable decisions made by the heads of the schools, and some of the school facilities are simply ghetto. Funding is also not spread fairly to the programs that can utilize it but the funding is mainly given to the programs that bring in the most money. The technology at the school is dated but is slowly being upgraded to more recent hardware.
