Cypress Woods Elementary School Reviews

2 reviews
Cypress Woods is a small, close knit elementary school seated in East Lake, Florida among suburbia. The teachers are dedicated, and the classes are small enough for students to receive individual teaching. The food is pretty good for a public school, and there's a lot of parent involvement. The art and music classes are good to create interest in the arts. The gifted program is amazing, and the projects for the honors students really challenge them. Cypress does lack diversity. Due to almost every student being white, Christian and middle class, anyone different is immediately visible. This often leads to some bullying, which administration tends to handle very poorly. One thing of note is their programs. Cypress Woods has SEM, a program where kids choose a hobby or "major" if you will, and spend an hour each week participating in fun activities revolving around aforementioned hobby.

Cypress Wood is amazing. We have five in the school, from pre-K through 5th and have been at the school for 6 years (and have 6 years to go). The oldest 3 are all in gifted, which is an incredible program.

The teachers are dedicated, motivated, and supportive. The kids just drink in what they have to share.

The pre-school program (two years before Kindergarten) is worth every penny. We've had kids in the program for the last four years and are sad to be aging out. They have prepared our kids for kindergarten in a way that no other school could.

We love it.
