CyRanch is a very large high school in the suburbs of Houston. Because it is so large, it is able to offer a wide variety of academic and extracurricular programs. Athletically, CyRanch is very competitive in most every sport. We compete at the 6A level. Academically, I have taken AP, Dual Credit, and Honors courses. Unfortunately, many of the AP and Dual Credit classes are combined courses. This is not good! In these classes, the dual credit students are taught the same way as the AP students. There has been significant change at the top of the school admin this last year, the school will have a different feel in August. Additionally, CyRanch will no longer be the 'golden child' of CFISD. A new high school, Bridgeland HS, has opened and it will become the flagship high school for the district.

CyRanch has the most spirit in the district. We have the support of our surrounding community, and our school likes to be involved with the community. Our teachers are the best in the district. The teachers and other staff members really care about the overall well-being of all of the students. They go out of there way to help us succeed! The curriculum is not easy but the students are not afraid of the work because they know that teacher is always available, and willing, to offer assistance.
This school has great teachers who make sure their students are succeeding in every way possible. To be honest going to this school is quite stressful. There is so much academic competition between students that even one point in their grade can change the class rank. This is especially true for my sophomore class because we only have about 500 students. The library is a safe haven for students, as the librarians accept everyone. The service at the counselor's office however is always a hassle. The lunches here are awful, the food is tasteless and there is no variety. The clubs here are amazing! They are run by students for the students. There are many activities to choose from especially those that will make you look good on a resume. The infrastructure of the school is pretty conventional and simple, which I like, but what I hate is that there are barely any windows in the classrooms. Also I'm not to fond of teachers forcing us to work in groups.
