This is not going to feel like a normal high school for most people. It's more of a weird, small city of 5,000 kids-- you'll find some gems, like a stellar speech & debate team, or a handful of passionate, dedicated teachers, and some... less shiny material. It's Hispanic majority, with the second largest population being white, yet one may hear the n-word half a dozen times on a two-score-foot walk down a Cypress hallway. The arts are underfunded, the cafeteria smells of prison food, and the support staff are overworked-- but that's normal for any public school. Cypress is a breeding ground for nicotine addictions, teachers who actively participate in rape culture, and an academic competitiveness so toxic you'd be shocked the EPA hasn't clocked us for hazmat runoff into the Everglades. Go Lightning!

It has a lot of academic opportunities! It has a lot of AP courses, AICE diplomas, and chances for dual enrollment. Teachers are dedicated, some more than others, which I'm sure is the same everywhere. Art teachers might have to buy cheap, but they have supplies. Computers are old, but a lot of classes have them. Students can get nasty competitive, but that type usually sorts itself into a insular clique.
It's a big school though, and if you don't chase down scholarship opportunities, ESE services, counselors, etc., people won't turn up for you, unless you're one very, very lucky teacher's pet. Take the drug PSAs seriously, doing drugs will push you into social groups that genuinely think drunk driving is fun in a way it might not in other schools. Also, although it's better than a lot of South Florida schools in this regard, the bathrooms (as of 2020) are always a little bit falling apart.
My experience with Cypress Bay High School has been great so far! there are a lot of opportunities offered. Plenty of clubs that adapt to your interests, from science clubs, to drama clubs. There is a variety of core classes and electives that are available to every student, which really means that students are being prepared for the college of their interest the moment they get to high school.

In regards to the staff, teachers, administrators and counselors, I can say that I had an awesome experience. They are very attentive to the students necessities, and they find a way to make time for them.
