Culver City High School Reviews

I have had a good high school experience. I have had some great teachers and some not so great teachers. My mom can tell during Open House which teachers will be great and she is always right. But regardless, I have tried my very best to excel in each class. After playing about every sport in middle school, I finally settled on water polo in high school. I was never a strong swimmer but water polo has made me a "mermaid" as my mom tells me. Water polo has made me physically strong and that helped me land my first job as a swim instructor and lifeguard at the local YMCA. I am grateful that I found a sport that I love which also helped me start making money. But the best part of high school have been the friends that have made me laugh, have shared their notes and helped me with difficult subjects, and who have shared their memories with me. I will always remember my time at Culver. Go Centaurs! #Classof2024
My experience at Culver City high school was definitely questionable. I came into the school as a new freshman, thinking it was going to be how it was in Mean girls. To find out I was the weird girl, coming into a new school as a freshman not knowing anyone was a struggling. The teachers at my school didn’t help at all with making me feel comfortable. There was a time in my English class where this student called me fat and ugly and the teacher proceeded to laugh at me while I was crying. I strongly believe my school needs to change the way teachers can comfort students in uncomfortable circumstances and teachers should always believe this victim in situations like these.I hope my school takes steps to create a more positive and inclusive environment for everyone.
I believe that Culver City High School is a great school with many unique and interesting classes. I really enjoy the school events that are set up and the classes are very well done. Many teachers are well informed on the subject taught and are fair, professional and considerate. The school itself is great however the violence and disrespect from students is a large issue in the community. The lack of punishment and security in our school is what I would like to change to better help students as well as counselors becoming more involved with those who need help.
