I was a student for 9 years (K-8) so I know how this school operates.. My friends and I still struggle in math classes from the lack of Algebra 1 skills we all have. There are a few teachers who give 100% and I still remember things they taught (all the history and science teachers are wonderful). There is a lot of 'hierarchy' almost with the "GATE" classes and the accel. and regular classes. I remember teachers only handing out certain programs for higher GPAs to the "smart" kids classes. This idea of supremacy is bred at Cubberley, and kills self confidence. BUT the biggest issue is the cliques that derive from being trapped in a school with the same people for 9 years. I still talk to some people that went to Cubberley for most of the years with me about how mean we all were to each other and how horrible the environment was there. The sport's programs are great if you're into that sort of thing, and the MESA program, theater program and Student Council are fantastic.

The extracurricular activities are very helpful and provide an inviting experience for students. I have participated in cheer at this school and it provided me with experiences that I will never forget as a crucual part of involvement in my childhood
Some of the food choices aren't as healthy, they used to or still serve pizza but in moderation.
