Crown Point High School is definitely a school to consider if you are interested in furthering your education once you receive a State of Indiana diploma. Crown Point's focus is on preparing their students for future success. Although I expected to be considered "just a number" when I began my high school career, I found out pretty quickly that wasn't the case. The teachers are knowledgeable and actually want to see you succeed! Also, they take the time to get to know their students. One of my favorite teachers, Mr. Jerome "Flew" Flewelling is currently a finalist in the Indiana Department of Education's Teacher of the Year. Regardless of if he wins, his students are going to feel like winners after being in his classroom. CPHS is filled with teachers like that. Educators who constantly want to motivate and push their students towards success.
Review Crown Point High School
My overall experience at Crown Point High School was very good. All of the staff is very nice and understanding. They really do want the best for their students. One of my teachers is like a mentor to me. She has done everything she can to help me excel in the major I want to go in to. She even let me start my own club! Crown Point High School is excellent for anyone who wants to excel in their future career. There are so many classes to take with excellent staff. Also, there are many clubs you can join; if there isn't one that you want, you can make one! Additionally, Crown Point has so much school spirit. I love the togetherness at the football games where everyone gathers. Every football game has a new dress-up theme. Also, we have many spirit weeks to promote certain things going on in the school. To conclude, Crown Point High School is amazing. It brings students and staff together for the good of the future.
The Goods:
1. There are a lot of opportunities for sports, the arts, and being able to find an elective that shows you your interest.
2. There are so many students you will be able to find friends!
3. I met many great teachers who inspired me at Crown Point.

The Uglies:
1. This school is so fast paced that even the most studious students can crumble. I remember talking to some of my peers (who I would think had it all, they were getting scholarships, in student government, and had amazing grades) and they were saying that because how much pressure is at CPHS they felt so weak and were having panic attacks. I was in AP classes and I could feel the pressure just from the schools.
2. While I had a lot of great teachers some of them were so intolerable! They acted as if their class was the end of the world. They were so unsympathetic to the human condition.
3. The administration is awful. Simply said.
