It's a surreal experience to walk through the hallways of Croton-Harmon High School and be surrounded by leaders on all sides. Everyone at the school is afforded the opportunity to be a leader in the arts, sports, or after school clubs, and the majority of the school's student population takes advantage of those opportunities. Generally, students are also enrolled in very difficult courses, and are able to balance them with their extracurriculars very skillfully. The school also does a great job engaging students in discussions about how to improve the school through the school's Student Faculty Congress, and communication between the school and the community has been on the uprise. Finally, a lunch program was implemented this past year for those who couldn't afford to buy lunch. It would be nice to see some of the athletic facilities upgraded, and to see a bigger emphasis placed on the arts, but other than that, I'm very fortunate to be a student here.

Very high school taxes with mediocre student performance. Very little choice of languages and AP courses. Little to no music or arts opportunities. Very limited science courses. By high school a significant number of district students move to private schools. School does not participate in many state or national competitions. Very few National Scholarship semi finalists or higher.
School is safe. Very little student diversity.
Education is great, culture and culture awareness needs work. The maths department at the lower levels is full of inexperienced and often uninterested teachers. Once you make it past trig though the teachers are some of the best anyone could ask for.
