Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences Reviews
Rating 4.53 out of 5 53 reviews
Supportive, inclusive and safe environment with caring staff and administrators who are responsive to students' needs and their emotional well-being. Ever improving facilities. Students are taught to listen to one another, as well as to advocate for themselves and others. Wonderful programs in the arts. Very strong in the humanities. Advance courses have the same rigor of AP courses but without the stress. The food offerings are great - reasonably priced nutritious tasty choices with variety. Generous affordability program attracts and retains the best students. We cannot be happier.
My experience was nor good or bad, as a person of color I did struggle a lot with my identity in a primarily white school. I often felt overlooked and misrepresented, I was put in situations where I had to be the voice of race when difficult discussions came up. Even though I faced some challenges at Crossroads, they provided so many resources to help me succeed. They provided an environment where I could find myself by providing classes where we are able to express our feelings. They also provided many opportunities to find one's passion by allowing students to pursue independent studies and much more.
Crossroads is a wonderful school that provides both an outstanding academic program and a nurturing environment. Teachers are deeply invested in providing meaningful education and supporting intellectual development as well as social awareness and personal growth. Both of my children are happy at school and the Crossroads community very warm, with many opportunities for parents to connect with each other and with schools staff.
