Crossroads offers an education that incorporates students into the life of the City, utilizing nearby resources like the Central KC Library, the Folly Theater, and nearby open plaza for recess. The student and teacher diversity is unparalleled in any other school in KC. The focus on stoking curiosity, civic-minded action, and inclusion is excellent.
I think it is a decent school in the heart of Kansas City. It's better than other alternatives, but they need a lot of improvements. There is no cafeteria, there's not really place for recess, few sports you can join for, no library and no parking. Teachers leave constantly, and only teach for a year or two. After school activities are just being rolled in, and only few are in place.
However, the academics are okay, and some teachers stay for longer. It's pretty safe, and there's not any threats to the school. And the administration does a good job of handling incidents and students.
Overall, if you can find better, send them there. But, I think it's decent for elementary and middle school in general.

My children have been going here since they were in kindergarten my oldest is in the 7th grade now. I love this school because they focus on teaching the whole child. The curriculum is rigorous and the teachers are amazing. I have not had one year where I was disappointed in the education my children received. Because of crossroads my children go on frequent field experiences in the community and they truly understand their part and importance they play in the community. And I absolutely love it goes from kindergarten to 12th grade!!!!!
