This school was definitely far from ideal. I started attending the same year that big changes were being made with a new administration and new principal, all in an effort to improve the overall safety and public image of the school. This school was so bad before I came that it had obtained a deplorable reputation as violent and uncontrollable. Although I experienced this, there were less fights and incidents by the time I graduated. Besides this, it was pretty average in terms of diversity and a bit more mediocre in the extracurriculars. But the two biggest factors that compel me to review this poorly is academics and administration. This school is not meant for someone who plans to go to college, since there is basically no college guidance. Trade school was pushed, and AP classes were removed. It felt like the administration cared way too much about fixing their public image, which would eventually lead to many controversial decisions and animosity towards administration.
I liked that Crossland high school has a CTE department because I feel like it does give students more options and chances to find things that they may be interested in. It can also help them start with a better position to put them at higher chances for other jobs. They also have many opportunities that can help a student get their driver's license/permit and/or their first job and help gain experience for them. I did wish they had a class they could show how to properly write papers like for resumes or business papers. One thing I didn't like was the CTE programs in crossland do help and give you all the information you would need to pass your test, but I feel like you would be more likely to pass with all four year instead of just two because then you can have more confidence and time to learn things that would help you succeed with your passion in the future.
I love my school. We are THEE LAND and The Home Of The Cavaliers! Most people think High school is boring and they just go to get the diploma but I believed that you have to make it fun! I am in numerous clubs and I am in a sport. I know for a fact if I wasn’t into those things I wouldn’t enjoy high school as much as I do now. You only get 4 years of high school to continue to be a kid until you graduate and head off to the real world so as I always tell my friends make the most of it!
