I love the environment. Majority of the students are Hispanic which only unites us to fight for our reputation together. The amount of support is phenomenal! It’s definitely fair to say teachers and the staff as a whole truly care about their students. They all desire success among the students, it’s demonstrated with their flexibility. If for whatever reason the concept isn’t understood there’s always the option of homework center, an area for tutoring available every single day after school. If students are too busy, teachers are willing to go the extra mile and schedule a meeting before school! I love the support system.

What I love about Cristo Rey is their Corporate Internship Program or CIP. The program pairs students with various internships across the state of Maryland. My first year attending Cristo Rey I was placed at the Arc Baltimore in their financial department. For my sophomore and junior year, I was interning at Whiting-Turner Contracting Company in which I worked in the VDC or Virtual Design and Construction department. This department worked with virtual design and link it with the construction process of a building. For my senior year, I worked at Stanley Black & Decker in which I worked in the Materials Lab testing the strength and durability of metals.
Cristo Rey, known as the school that works, is a phenomenal high school. Although the institution has only been in place for 20 years, it has made great advances academically and in its efforts to connect students with the work industry. Cristo Rey is a high school that provides tremendous opportunities for its students during the academic year and in the summer. Although its academics are demanding, the institution creates a great structure for seniors getting ready to head off to college.
