Cristo Rey is a unique high school experience, but it was a good one. The school has a program called Corporate Work Study, where students are placed in a workplace and go every week. In this way, we get work experience while still in high school. It does a very good job of preparing us and for the future. The school is also very diverse, where once you step in, the minorities become the majority. It is really amazing to be able to see so many students of color participate in a program that will benefit them. Cristo Rey also has an excellent support system for all seniors who are applying to colleges and scholarships. They make sure that we are set to graduate. The community is also very caring. I am able to talk to my peers and teachers. One thing that I would like Cristo Rey to change is to improve its arts programs. Things like the school play are not very supported and don't have that much participation.

Cristo Rey for me is what I call the real deal. Our staff members are involved in different things that helps us be unique students. As a high school, students like myself have corporate work study jobs, that range from law firms to day cares, to pet stores, Best Buy, hospitals, Universities, and so many more. This unique opportunity gives us the ability to be a professional setting once a week and grow while being treated as associates and not students. I think with this opportunity many of my peers and I have been able to learn new techniques and incorporate our ideas to businesses, as we are the future generation that will be handling these matters.
I liked that Cristo Rey offered me the ability to gain corporate work experience even before starting college. The teachers are very nice and always willing to help students when they need help. It is a smaller school which I liked a lot. It helped me to learn better. They also use a system in which a student must get a passing grade in order to continue with the semester/school year. It is what makes it very different than public schools. The students are pushed to pass all of their classes. The graduation rate and college acceptance rate have also been 100% since the school opened in 2007.
