My experience as a Senior student there has been very good. The teachers are extremely helpful, they are always there when you need them. Teachers make sure to make time if you reach out for help. The Corporate Work Study Program helps us pay most of our tuition, and it gives us experience in real world workplaces. Most importantly, the College Guidance department work extremely hard to help each and every one of us, Seniors, to get us informed and help us get ready for college. From college applications day one to the day we decide to commit to schools - they are even there for us throughout our time in college! Additionally, the traditions that have been built, have become meaningful and unites the whole school regardless of race, sex, religion, etc. The school over all (teachers, students & staff) make sure that everyone is heard, loved, and appreciated. We celebrate everyone’s highs, and we are there for anyone’s lows.
Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep gives purpose in education. CRD is unique for it's Corporate Work Study Program that it offers. For students who attend CRD, having to work allows them to understand the work place outside of high school. Through academics, our teachers attend weekly meetings about how to constantly improve their way of teaching the subject to the students. For the immense investment teachers put in into the student's education creates an environment where the student knows is expected to give full effort back. As a team effort, students learn how to grow from mistakes, the value of mastery over grades, the importance of persevering, and the worth in giving back to the community by clubs, school events, and service days. We all build in a part in the school making each day worth protecting our dream, which is our goal in life. In the other hand, CRD has initiated in 2015. It is expanding gradually it's diversity and facilities.
After four years at this school I cannot imagine having went anywhere else. The teachers are always there to support all the students and they take the time to help us individually when we are struggling. There is also a family like bond we create with our class and teachers, especially after the retreats were we get to learn more about eachother and build relationships.
