I really like the small classes and the close relationships that the teachers build with every student. They definitely care about academics just as much as they care about sports. However, because of budget cuts there is no longer a music program and a lot of students had to give up their favorite part of the day. Crescent is a sending school to Francis Tuttle though, so that gives a lot of kids extra opportunities that they wouldn't get anywhere else.
I really liked how there were so many opportunities and how everyone is very welcoming. Had plenty of options so you could decide what you wanna do in life. Really let you find what you’re passionate about and what inspires you .
Crescent is a great school with excellent teachers and student involvement!
I highly reccomend this school for someone to attend.
I highly reccomend this school for someone to attend.
Well, I will say that Crescent High School has some good teachers and administration. But, the only problem I have is with the students and one of the counselors there. I feel like they don´t take your feelings into consideration. The students pick on other students and talk about the other students and nothing is really done about it. I honestly don´t feel like I can talk to the teachers about anything because I trust only two teachers at that school.
I have attended Crescent Public Schools since pre-k. The small community is great at making everyone feel welcome. The small class sizes allow for more one on one time with your teachers who are always very friendly! I highly recommend sending kids to this school as we have great extracurricular activities and clubs.
i like the small classes where no one gets left out on activities. i do not like the lunches, and we do not have any school spirit.
I attended Crescent High School my sophomore year, for which they called me a freshman the entire time because I was only 2 credits behind. The next year I was sent to a drop out recovery program because the school counselor wouldn't out me in the classes I needed to be in to graduate with my class, which I could've done had they put more effort into my education. I have had very few positive experiences at Crescent, the teachers are okay, they don't prepare you for college, their curriculum is beyond behind, and they don't truly care about the needs of their students.
I have been in the Crescent Public Schools system since I was four years old. I've seen many teachers, principal, and other employees change throughout the years. One thing that has never changed is the sense of community. Everyone in the school looks out for each others best interests. One thing I would change is the academic system. The school accepted a grant to replace textbooks with Apple MacBooks. This change has resulted in the school's test grades going down, the teachers learning all new curriculum, and frustrated parents who see their child's grades lowering due to distractions online.
The sports programs are excellent to an extent. The band program is decent, and the art program is spectacular.
Most of the teachers that I had were friendly and helpful when it came to school work.
Crescent isn't the place to go if you have goals.
The athletic facilities are fantastic. The school redid the elementary gym and put in a rock wall and a couple more activities for the students to participate in. The stands are always filled with fans from the community and students. A lot of students participate in sports and are always trying to help every member out. There's a lot of school spirit. All the students dress up for homecoming week. We have a student section for the basketball and football games.
Policies are pretty standard. Students aren't allowed to wear tank tops or shorts that are too short. The usual kind of things. We got a grant a couple years ago for "Pathways", a counselors that deal with bullying, family problems, and multiple more. The principal and superintendent is involved with the school. They always try to make time to go see students in the activities they are involved in such as sports. They walk the halls and talk to a lot of the students just to see how they are doing. Office staff always helps the students with mailing off college registrations and scholarships. The high school guidance counselor is really great. She helps the seniors make sure they are on top of everything they need for college and graduation such as scholarships, transcripts, and college tours.
The food usually never looks good, but it is. Bullying isn't a real problem, nor is security so far. Everyone knows everyone here, so it's hard to get away with trying to harm anyone.
