I attended this school from the 5th to the 12th grade, so I knew most of the staff and teachers over the years, and I'd say I know the school inside and out.
In an area like North Highlands, I am thankful I got to attend CCAA.
The staff is very friendly and caring, and the teachers want their students to succeed; and since the school is so small, it allows you to really feel as a part of the school's community. You will know your classmates' names, you will be engaged in school activities, and you will have some creative learning opportunities which I can't imagine happening anywhere else.
This school requires student and parental engagement via an hourly requirement of community service per school year, though this can be knocked out in a few Fridays (called "Field Study Days") over the course of the school year, and it helps the local community!
I would recommend CCAA for anyone who wants to feel they are really a part of their school and not just a student ID number.

Although small, Creative Connections Arts Academy provides students with an open minded and productive education. Due to small class size, teachers and students have the opportunity to know each other one-on-one and can build personal connections. There are many resources available for students with tutoring and use of computers for research in the library. Sports are becoming a more integral part of this school, and the student body is extremely diverse, with people coming from many cultural backgrounds.
CCAA is a small high/middle school compared to most, but that’s where its charm comes from. Most students, if not all, get to know each other and are all open and friendly to one another, allowing for a close-knit community. As the name implies, the arts are very relevant in all classes as well allowing for creativity and learning to mix all the time!
