From Cranbrook Schools

For generations, Cranbrook has fostered creative and critical thinking skills in our students while preparing them to excel at the colleges of their dreams and in life beyond. Now more than ever, universities and employers understand what we have always known: an education that develops this kind of thinking is what leads to success. It is no surprise to us that so many of our alumni credit Cranbrook as one of the single biggest factors in their success and happiness in life, and that so many of them have gone on to shape the world in so many ways. Cranbrook is more than the opportunity for a great education. It is an opportunity for a great future. At Cranbrook Schools, we offer opportunity that lasts a lifetime.

I loved going to this fantastic school. I learned so much about being a well rounded person here. There was diversity but unfortunately a divide between boarding and day students that created quite a rift in the student body. The campus is beautiful, and when I show my college friends where I went to high school they can't believe it!

The teachers and administration really do care about your well-being. Sometimes that manifests itself as tough love but you always come out a better person after. They also want to help you in any way they can. Personally, my advisor has worked with me to get me in the classes I want and encouraged me to take risks with classes I hadn't thought about before. The college counseling is top-notch. The campus itself is extremely nice, but the girls' bathrooms leave something to be desired. The student body is incredibly diverse; I have close friends of all colors, from places like Russia, Vietnam, China, Korea, etc. The diversity of perspective is the diversity of the campus ten-fold. The people I have encountered here are some of the nicest, most thoughtful people I have ever met. They are outgoing, accepting, everything you could want from classmates. Overall, my experience here has been amazing, and I highly recommend this school to others.
I like the curriculum, but the homework policies and practices need to be relaxed a bit. It is overwhelming and unreasonable to have 6 hrs of homework each night if they expect students to have balanced lives that include extracurricular, and social activities.....both of which are important to being well rounded individuals and responsible citizens in the school community and the communities in which we all live. The campus is absolutely beautiful. The art museum and science center are incredible resources that enrich the culture of the school and offer inspiration to the students. They offer a wide range of clubs, and sports for students to get involved with. They support and actively pursue diversity and inclusion.
