Covina High School Reviews
Rating 3.76 out of 5 376 reviews
Covina High School is a very good institution that is part of the Covina Valley Unified School District K-12. It is pretty good with academics, from Special Education to Advanced Placement; it has many resources for the academicily challenged person, too. Although, the teachers, college readiness, resources, and food were average or below average; they make everybody feel inclusive and accepted as a Colt. They do have resources for special need students. The parents and sports give the school spirit and pride; it is the highlight of the Covina High School. The STEM program is very good for science students; bonus, the school has its own farm with live animals. It is part of the FFA which teaches students agricultural science. The art department, on the other hand, is great for lovers in abstract and creativity. Overall, Covina High School is a very good, safe, and incluvsive institution for everyone; the numerous events during major holidays uplift the cultural sprit of the school.
I attended Covina High School for all four years from 2018 - 2022. I was first introduced to this school by their esteemed marching band program, which has been competing in circuits such as SCSBOA and BOA for decades. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at CHS due to the many friends I made in my classes, clubs, and band, and the lasting relationships I made with many of my teachers. Even though CHS is relatively small in size compared to many other public high schools in Southern California, I believe that Covina is truly a second home away from home for all of its students, teachers, and staff. Even though my in-person high school experience was cut short due to the pandemic, I was still able to thrive in my academics due to the many resources and support systems offered by CHS. I believe that Covina is an amazing high school for any student no matter their background, interests, or beliefs. There is something for everyone at CHS.
I've been a student at Covina High School going on 4 years now, and it's been a great time. Being a student-athlete for all 4 years as well has shown me how great the athletics programs are here. Mainly the track and field as well as cross country but recently there has been a rise in the talent of the football team. Being a soccer player I'm hoping for a shift in the soccer team. Overall though, Covina has a great education system which pushes students to meet A-G requirements all while preparing students for college and life after high school.
