School is very small with the high school being even smaller. Good well developed grammar school which is the flagship of the school. The high school is like a side project that is in the back of the building with a back entrance. It almost feels like an underdeveloped side project at times with only one language option (Latin) and very limited sports opportunities. The highlight and logic school homework mainly ends up being mostly Latin and bible (in logic school) assignments while core classes fail to give as much homework High school seems to be following this trend. The school assigns homework but just in the wrong classes. In the end stay for grammar school and maybe logic school but maybe look at other High school options...
Review Covenant Christian Academy
With a school population of 275 students, and one of the most reasonable tuition rates for HS in Essex County, CCA offers an appropriate number of clubs and extra curricular activities for it's students. It's athletic teams regularly win league championships, and it's musical groups and theater productions are outstanding. Whats so amazing about CCA is that students move seamlessly from athletics, to music, to clubs like robotics...and they do well in all of these areas. They are getting a true liberal arts experience.
Every day, I drop off happy kids and I pick up happy kids. They love school. They love their teachers. They love being a part of sports teams, and clubs and theater productions. I can barely get them in the car to go home. How many Middle School students do you know are having this experience? They are held to high standards academically and are taught that there is always room for improvement. They are embraced as an important part of the school community. The teachers model what it means to be a follower of Christ in a modern world. This school is truly teaching my "whole" child and we are so grateful for the faculty that work so hard to make it the wonderful place it is.
