I love the faculty and staff here at Cottondale High School. Even though there has been a few rough patches here and there, I know that my teachers have been genuinely concerned about my well-being and furthering my education to help shape a better future for me. The teachers here are very down-to-earth and they are very selfless people. The teachers along with the faculty/staff here at my school create such a welcoming environment for each and every student.
Cottondale High School has great teachers and provides excellent education, but one thing some of the teachers lack is one on one helping with students. I also feel as more kids would be actively involved if there was more groups, clubs, sports , etc. brung upon the school grounds. Also, this school is phenomenal in making sure kids mental health is good , they do not tolerate bullying or disrespect in any way. I feel as if the dress code is a little over-bearing , in my personal opinion it should not matter what color polo the child wears , as long as it is a polo. The same thing with jeans , it should not matter the color as long as they have them. Some kids have life a little tougher then others and can not get exactly what is expected for school. Also , clubs like beta should not cost. Children try they hardest at work and sometimes can not even join the club because they just simply do not have the money. In conclusion, this school/district has both its positive and negatives.
I am currently a Sophomore at Cottondale High. I have been going to this school all my life. It is a really small school Middle and High are both in one building (400+ students), with of course extending buildings. The sports are average. Like we provide all sports but: lacrosse, soccer, and wrestling. But also because of the small school everyone is most likely related to one another, and we are all close to our Teachers. It's a very sweet school everyone is happy but because of it being so small it doesn't have the many opportunities and exposure a bigger school would have. It's overall good!
