Coronado High School had a nice campus and most of the staff was great. I had some amazing teachers who helped me realize that I love literature, government, and that I can even do statistics! I wasn't very sporty, but the school had incredible fields and pools for sports. When I played softball, I felt lucky to have such a nice, new field. The campus was clean and the community was tightly knit. Coronado is a very safe place to live as well. I always felt safe on pubic transit there. I also really appreciated that students could get lunch off-campus!

As a military dependent, I've found myself bouncing from school to school since 5th grade. My junior year in high school was no different, my family once again packed up our bags to move to California, where I was enrolled into Coronado High School. At first I experienced culture shock, there wasn't much diversity when it came to student culture and I felt myself isolated for the remainder of the year. On the other hand, the teachers were so caring and amazing to the point where I didn't mind having a dull social life. This school has access to the best teachers and materials as well as after school programs, where I had a temporary internship at SHARP Hospital as well as a Saturday class, the art of dreaming and open mindedness. I insist that Coronado High School provided me with the opportunities that have expanded my mind and molded me into the person I am, preparing me for my future to come.
The teachers and the educational opportunity is amazing. At Coronado High School there is a great environment to figure out what it is you would like to do in the future and there is encouragement to do something that you want to do. It is a place, however, that is difficult to make friends if you haven't been at Coronado. The students at Coronado don't like those different from themselves and if you are, there are people you can find but not so much. People that live in Coronado do not typically leave Coronado and are thus not so exposed to a great variety of people and can be described as “rich white people”. The staff do well to include everyone where the students do not. It is not very diverse in culture at all since most everyone there can be described as very rich caucasians. It is a top school as far as staff and educational opportunity. We have an incredible amount of career technical classes that appeal to those who know what it is they want to do and to those who do not.
