Personally, I have enjoyed CPPHS. I am constantly blown away with how many options we have in regards to extracurricular activities, there really is something for everyone! I appreciate the variety in classes offered. It is a wonderful opportunity to be given the chance to earn many college credits in high school.
Although I have had a good experience, I know some others have not. I know there is some bullying in our school, most of which stems from the racism and lack of diversity in the area. Our staff overall is very good, but I do feel that they need to get a better handle on how to deal with the issues affecting the school.
Overall Corning Painted-Post High School is a good school that academically supports and pushes its students to become better. There are issues that need to be addressed, all students should feel safe going to school. But when the staff can address these issues, CPPHS will be an even better place that all students can enjoy and love.

I think Corning is a very good school! I has lots of positive aspects such as the athletics teams, facilities, continuously updating classrooms, and the academic opportunities. I feel that I am lucky to attend this school and I very much appreciate all of the wonderful opportunities it gives me. I would also say that Corning is a very competitive school and they take athletics and academics seriously. They offer many challenging courses and the IB classes are very tough. Another positive aspect of the school is it’s clubs and activities. There are so many different clubs that it would be impossible for someone to not be able to get involved in some extracurricular activity through the school.
I had a great time in CPPHS, however my experiences as an African-American IB student caused me to experience both the school's greatest strengths and weaknesses. CPPHS is a great academically due to its dedicated teachers, varied academic programs, and globally recognized International Baccalaureate (IB) program. CPPHS values music and the arts. Its drama program produces amazing plays and musicals, and marching band program wins Championships. However, CPPHS' culture does not recognize the negative experiences of its students of color. The school does little to address prejudice within its student population, leaving students of color to face racism and discrimination. Students often walk around with Confederate flags on their clothes and administrators have to be begged to do anything about it. However, this culture may be beginning to change. In 2019, the African American Culture Club (AACC) was formed and the school began introducing Student Equity programs.
