Cornerstone Charter Academy is a medium-sized school with over a hundred students enrolled each year. The teachers instruct well for their curriculums although some do fail to hit small topics of the curriculum. There is little to no bullying at Cornerstone and students are friendly towards one another. The atmosphere is positive and rules are followed accordingly. School lunches are healthy and adequate with pizza being served each Friday. The internet connectivity for the school is bad due to large bandwidth necessary for the high number of devices connected to the Wi-Fi at the same time. There are many clubs and electives for music, art, coding, acting, and more. I myself am enrolled in the Coding Club and, even though I would like more members to be in the club, I enjoy my time learning coding languages such as Python and how to utilize them. Overall, Cornerstone Charter Academy is a nice school to go to with a positive, engaging environment.
Cornerstone Charter Academy High School is different from other high schools in the fact that it is smaller than traditional high schools. This can be a good and bad thing, based on what matters to a person. The good thing is that the students are very close-knit, and although typical high school cliques exist, they still get along and can interact with each other well. Since almost everyone knows each other, it can be very obvious when there is a new student. But most students are very friendly and will try to make the new student feel comfortable until they become acclimated. Being a small school can have it’s disadvantages. Cornerstone Charter Academy is a K-12 school, and even though the elementary part and middle and high school part are separate, the campus itself is small and there is a lot of sharing of facilities. For example, the gymnasium in the middle school building is used for sporting events and doubles as a lunchroom for the elementary school children.
I have been attending Cornerstone Charter Academy since the seventh grade, and I am now a senior. Cornerstone Charter Academy is a very new school, but has adapted and made a name for itself over these past few years. I have watched the student body, staff, and campus grow into a beautiful school where everyone is safe and secure. Out principal, Dr. Renee Pancoast, has a love for her students more than anyone I've ever seen. She will do the utmost for her staff and students. Although the school is small, it has a lot amazing and wonderful quirks to it. I have absolutely loved growing up in a safe environment that is Cornerstone Charter Academy.
