Overall the teachers, staff, and people are terrible! The administration and staff are very biased because their kids go there to even though their kids are usally the ones breaking rules. If you make one wrong impression with staff you are done. I have been going here since 1st grade and honesly the school is so cliquey. There has been several scandels involving staff and student relations, sexting, and child pornagraphy. I think that you should not waste your time and just go to a different school.
Cornerstone is a good school, it has great opportunities and is a sheltered school in which students are able to flourish to the best of their abilities with the help of faculty and staff. I think the worst part of it is that you aren’t getting the “typical” high school experience, although that doesn’t matter much in my opinion.
I will attempt to make a balance and fair assessment of this school. I had three children in Cornerstone Charter Academy for nearly four years. The school has great aspirational future; they provide a good education and for being a charter school they will charge for some services and goods which is fair.
The students wear uniforms and the school has a strict discipline guideline. But it has two big disadvantages, one is that it has no room to grow and the real estate in that area is very expensive, in short their students are cramped and they can’t add more concrete to their surroundings. The process of picking up and dropping your children is a nightmare.
The second issue is that you are mandated to work certain number of hours for your children to be able to stay in school the following year; and you will probably notice that you might be working but other parents are in a vacation mode which is very disappointing.
