Coram Deo Academy is a wonderful school for kids who want to be challenged. The work is accelerated and at a higher learning status than normal. For example, a student in the Eighth grade may be completing work that Ninth graders in public schools would be doing. The school challenges its students constantly with difficult lessons but the teachers are extremely helpful. There is a lot of responsibility put on the students to do their own work and have integrity in all they do. Coram Deo Academy is a university model school which prepares the students for the future. The school is Christian but Catholic students are also welcome. One thing the school could improve on is diversity of the student body. The school is predominantly white. There are few students of colour in comparison to the overall student body. Conclusively, Coram Deo is an incredible school for those of the Christian faith who want higher learning and teachers who truly want to see their students grow and succeed.
My son has attended Coram Deo Academy since 1st grade. He is now in 3rd grade and is excelling! He has learned so much since starting and is way above academically then most peers his age that attend public schools. The teachers he has had have poured their love of Christ and their love of learning into him. He has made lifelong friends that are all raised in homes that are like minded and Christ centered. And of course, the thing we love most about CDA is the partnership between parents and the school. Having him home to teach has been the biggest blessing, by far. We love CDA and hope to continue through high school!
I loved the religious influence in most every class. Also, the community was a huge factor of why i enjoyed it so much. The AP teachers saw to it that you pushed yourself to the best of your ability and provided help, all you had to do was ask. Also every teacher made it their priority to have a close relationship with their students and allowed for conversations after or before class to help each student, whether it be every day life or academic problems, they were there to help. But also i was very blessed to have met some amazing people there and now have the closest group of friends who can help each other through life to make wise decisions. However i would like to see the school take more mission trips and provide fundraising events for those mission trips. Also id like to see some class rooms remodeled and some teachers receive better training on the level of class they are teaching. As well as the sports programs have a steady coach.
