Coral Academy of Science High School Reviews
Rating 3.31 out of 5 105 reviews
Coral Academy of Science is a small community where everyone is family. Students work very hard to maintain good grades. Students have dedication towards student success while being supported by teachers and staff who work there. Majority of students who attend this school are looking forward to achieving a position in their preferred career path. Sports teams do struggle with losses but the students don’t let that affect their learning capabilities. The only change I would aspire to see is unity between all sports as attending this school sometimes means that sports teams feel superior over other sports teams at the school.
A big thing that I liked about Coral Academy of Science was that it was a smaller school overall. So the classroom size was much smaller, allowing the teachers to be more engaged with the students and teach them better. I enjoyed playing on the sports teams all four years of high school. The school makes every students education important and doesn't seem to "forget" about a student or disregard them. They want us all to succeed. On the flip side, I would like a larger campus, the halls get crowded at times. Funding would also be nice to improve the campus facilities and equipment. But the students, teachers, and counselors are all great.
Coral Academy of Science High School is an excellent college preparatory school. Coral focuses on S.T.E.A.M. education, and they do excel at that goal. My son has been a student of Coral Academy since seventh grade, and he is graduating this year. There is immense pressure put on the students to maintain a high G.P.A. and never falter. As a result, the students feel unworthy of their peers if they are not outshining each other. The building was not initially built for a school, so the facilities are cramped. Since it is a smaller charter school, there are not as many sports offered as there would be at a regular size county high school. The front staff is fantastic and always willing to help. The administration can be challenging at times, but the teachers are phenomenal and are certainly worth the attendance. The students will be ready for college, but Coral needs to work on the students' mental health and social needs.
