The atmosphere was great for a high school. I was taken away by how much I was able to learn and the teachers there are phenomenal! I’m proud to say that I am a graduate from Copperas Cove High School for almost three years now! The courses that I was required to take challenged me at times and I enjoyed taking away so much knowledge! The one thing I fell short on from attending Copperas Cove High School was college readiness. I was not prepared to understand much of the process of college and the English courses taught in high school did not prepare me for college courses. I would love to see more APA and MLA differences taught, so every student is prepared when writing for and English class but also for business classes.

My experience with Copperas Cove high School wasn't terrible, but also wasn't one of excellence. The school as great teachers, its just a matter of either getting lucky with the schedule or deciding to take harder, more labor intensive classes such as Pre-AP and AP course. The sports were enjoyable and although the set-up may seem rudimentary from the outside, the staff have developed a system around it and are able to work with what is available most of the time. I can't guarantee that everyone will have an enjoyable time, as is evident from most people hearing that they hold a deep disliking of the school, but it is workable. There are many things I would change for the school, the main being some of the choices the administrative sector makes. They just don't seem to keep the students in mind when making half of their decisions.
A lot of people that attend Copperas Cove High School say they don’t enjoy it. Then you have the little percent that will admit that Copperas Cove did a great job preparing us students for the future. High school is viewed as a horrible place where you don’t learn anything, skip class, and sleeping during it. But my high school prepared me for the future by allowing me to be social, learn new things, make mistakes, and most importantly strive in athletics. Now I am going off the college for it. And for that I thank you Copperas Cove High School.
