My overall experience with Copper Canyon High School was above average. I enjoyed my time there but felt a lack of readiness for college even before the COVID-19 pandemic began. Once the pandemic started, the learning and way of teaching changed drastically. There was less initiative from the teachers and students to carry on classes as it was before. Regarding the environment, it was relatively good, everybody had their own friend group or at least a friend in each class. No one really seemed left out from anything.
Some of the best things about the school would be the size of the campus, as well as all of the opportunities it provided. On top of that was a wide variety of students and staff who were present each day and willing to offer help and tutoring to those in need of it. Additionally, Copper Canyon is an avid advocate for physical and mental health, as it constantly promotes positivity and self care to it's students, and offers numerous ways of getting help should anybody ever need it. Bullying was hardly, if ever, an issue for me, and I usually found it very easy to get along with almost every teacher I was assigned. Students at Copper Canyon were generally very accepting of one another, and could be seen expressing themselves by embracing their sexuality, ethnicity, style, culture, passions, and more without experiencing any form of discrimination. The only area in need of improvement would be the curriculum. It should be more captivating and engaging to help students retain the lesson
I love my high school very much. Copper canyon was the best choice ever made the teacher and staff are all very great. School is very well ran and monitored. As a high school football player it was a really fun experience and glad I got to experience it here at copper canyon high school. Although I moved further away from copper canyon I still attended because of just the work environment and it was just home to me, as it can be for anyone else! School safety is taken very seriously as their is a police officer on campus every single day! The academics are also very good as a student you just have to want it more and gonthe extra mile to get where you want to be as the teachers will be with you every step of the way!
