Being a senior at Coon Rapids High School, I have had exposure to all of the grade levels. And I would say overall it’s a pretty well set-up school. It has great teachers and staff, and the counseling experience is great. It’s easy for students to know where and who to go to for any possible need. But when I first came in as a freshman, I was honestly terrified. I felt isolated as I didn’t know where my classes were, and was scared for asking for help because I thought it would be embarrassing. One thing I would suggest for CRHS is to make it a more welcoming experience for freshmen. Maybe put well-labeled maps on the freshmen’s schedules, and have places marked on the map for them to go to for any questions (like stations where staff are there to help). Other than that, my past 3 years at CRHS have been great, and I wouldn’t change much in those years.

At Coon Rapids High School, you've always got someone by your side, the teachers and staff are all very supportive and engage well with their students. Everyone I know here is involved in at least one activity of interest and no one is alike, there is something for everybody! The best part about my school, besides the inviting atmosphere and wide variety of courses, is the amount of school spirit. Everyone here is proud to be a Cardinal everyday of the week!
Many of the teachers here care very deeply about their students and seeing them grow into their full potential as they navigate towards their futures. The education opportunities offered are numerous and allow students every chance possible to achieve their goals. Clubs, sports, and other extracurricular activities are well supported and no one is made to feel excluded by their interests. There is an enormous amount of school spirit and the environment is all around positive from the staff although there are still issues that could be improved. At times there is a lack of communication between the staff and students. There have been multiple instances where I have found out about events happening the day of. There have also been various complaints among my classmates about issues not being dealt with in the best manner when reported to the staff. Despite these misgivings, high school life here at Coon Rapids has been an all around good experience that I am perfectly content with.
