The environment is friendly. They offer clubs to support almost every student's interests. The teachers are mostly friendly. If there is a question on an assignment, teachers actually answer them. They offer many AP classes and honors classes. Before covid, they had a variety of food for students to choose from--my favorite being the nachos. There isn't any bullying. There are fun events like Spirit Week, where we get to decorate the hallways and have a pep rally to show our school spirit. Teachers help students prepare for college by letting them know what they need to research about and what to expect. My Professional Education teacher helped me find sites for scholarships. It's an overall welcoming and helpful school.
Conner High School has had the biggest impact on me and my future than any other school has. The teachers are always helpful and they make you feel like they are always there and they CARE! Conner has helped start my future and gotten me in the path I want to be in. When I started applying for colleges, scholarships, jobs, etc... I knew who to go to with questions. I love this school and I wouldn’t be who I am today had I gone to another high school!
My freshmen and sophomore year weren't that bad. I had some drama, but I moved past it. Fast forward to my junior year when vaping became an issue. Instead of telling us we can't use the restroom during lunch or during the third block, perhaps install vape detectors. I am being treated at Children's Hospital, and I have a note saying I can have a water bottle with me and can use the restroom when needed. With these restroom rules, I could no longer use the restroom when needed. So I thought, don't drink the water I need, and I won't have to go. That led me to a UTI and dehydration. I feel like if they have the money and resources to put 3 cameras per hallway, 1 vape detector in each of the 4 bathrooms plus the locker rooms shouldn't be an enormous deal. There are also some superb components about Conner. I love the staff, there are extracurriculars for everyone, and the principal, Andy Wycoff, does an outstanding job. I am looking forward to my senior year at Conner High School.
