Concord Hill School Reviews
Rating 5 out of 5 4 reviews
I have two children who attended Concord Hill, and graduated recently. It was a wonderful school for my daughters, and for our family. Each classroom has two full-time teachers who spend a great deal of time getting to know each student and identify areas where they are ready to stretch and grow, while also understanding that each child is unique and moves at his or her own pace. The emphasis on social emotional learning recognizes that no student can learn until they feel that they are known and appreciated by the adults in the classroom, and they spend a lot of time helping kids navigate relationships.
The specials teachers are very talented and give the children many ways to shine and express themselves. Since the school is small, students of all ages are given many opportunities to perform and speak in front of the school (all in age-appropriate ways). If you have children of this age, I would recommend a tour so you can see for yourself!

I am a parent of a current student and an alumni who graduated from 3rd and now attends another area private school. The current head of school, Nate Dennison, is fabulous. His efforts to recruit and retain the highest quality faculty are evident. His leadership through the pandemic has been thoughtful, balanced, and focused on the needs of the entire community (students and teachers). I echo what everyone has said above about the focus on early childhood, social/emotional well being, academics, and physical wellness. My children have thrived at CHS and my oldest was more than prepared to launch from CHS to his next school.
My son has had such a lovely experience at this warm, little school. The focus on preschool through third grade, small class size (with two teachers in each class), and one class per grade model allows for a very cozy feel, where your child can still have an old-fashioned childhood. They have a play-based curriculum with a focus on both socioemotional and academic development. Academically, my child has developed a passion for learning and excitement about reading, math, science, art, and technology, and is advanced in many areas. He has blossomed socially as well. They really care about your child’s individual development. The new head, Nate Dennison, has brought new energy and fresh ideas, while being respectful of the existing culture. The families are very inclusive and many live nearby making playdates easier. Afterschool activities are plentiful and they have an excellent aftercare program.
